Tenri Dojo's winter break will be from December 24th to January 3rd. So this year's last practice will be on Wednesday, December 23rd. On that day, I would like to hold a Tenri Dojo House Tournament. This is Tenri Dojo members only. You will be separated into two teams and fight against each other. The winner will keep fighting until he loses a match. From the winning team, I will select an MVP based on his winning record as well as his performance of the match. So please put more effort into practice from now until the tournament in order to win mutches with good performance. After the tournament, I would like to have a potluck party. So please bring something to share.

Welcome to LA Tenri Judo Dojo

Tenri Judo is renowned for their many top-notch judo athletes such as Shinji Hosokawa, a Los Angeles Olympic gold medalist; Tadahiro Nomura, a three time Olympic gold medalist; and Shinichi Shinohara, who won the World Championship in two different weight classes and is the previous head coach of the Japan National Judo Team.

The essence and characteristics of Tenri Judo is instilled here at the Los Angeles Tenri Dojo.  Tenri Dojo teaches the importance of developing a sound mind and body and refines the technique of “ippon”.

We accept anyone interested in judo, wanting to get into shape, wishing to instill manners and discipline into children and adults; making friends through judo, aspiring to become an Olympic athlete or world champion, etc.

In our “dojo”, men and women, young and not-so-young, of many nationalities train three times a week.

If you are interested, please come by and watch to see if you would like to join.
